Bright Leaf Smoked Sausage Skillet

Discover a simple and delicious dinner option with this Smoked Sausage Skillet. Quick, budget-friendly, and bursting with flavor, it's sure to become a regular on your family's menu.

Ingredients:

  • (1 or 2) 16 oz. Pack of Bright Leaf Smoked Sausage (100% pork, natural casing and smoked with real hickory wood)
  • (1) Box of White Rice
  • (1) Large White Onion
  • (1) Bell Pepper Trio

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, bring water to a boil. Stir in rice and cover. Remove from the pot for the heat. Let stand for 5 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff lightly with a fork and serve.
  3. While the rice is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Turn another eye on the stove to medium heat, grab a skillet, and add chopped onion and bell peppers. Cook until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized, stirring occasionally.
  5. Just before you think the vegetables are to your liking, add the diced smoked sausage to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until it starts to brown, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the rice is cooked, add it to the skillet with the sausage and vegetables. Stir everything together to combine well—season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
